Action Statics
By Alan Forrest SmithAre you an Action Static? If you said yes, you could be in danger, if you said no idea ... you need to read this post. If you recognize yourself you will be provoked into something! I have just got back from London where I was lecturing. Lecturing about life-changing action to an audience of eager to listen attendees. At the back of the room sat a guy I have seen at a lot of training weekends as a student. I noticed him when he walked in. He is an Action Static. When he walked in he wore a very smart dark blue pine striped suit. In his right hand he carried a small black briefcase with gold locks. His shoes were well polished black in the classic brogue style. His red tie his white shirt, his overall clean cut look looked ready for action. For a minute I imagined him waking in the morning, telling his wife he would be working for the day, learning new things designed to build his business and make him money and make their life better. He looked fantastic when he left the house so why wouldn't she believe him? And away he went from his home only to arrive an hour later at the seminar. He's an Action Static, I know that for a fact. I spoke to him and asked him who he was, why he was here today. I really was curious after all I have seen this guys face for years when I have been speaking all over the UK.He told me he was there to listen to the experts, learn from them so he could walk away and take massive action. I asked him if he had seen any of the speakers before. He said yes ... all of them! At the end of the two days he approached me and thanked me. I of course asked him if he had enjoyed the speakers and the information they had shared. He said he had loved it, learned loads and at that point he said goodbye and walked away. At that point I watched his steps as the last view of him was his pin-striped back leaving the door into the lobby to leave the building. My mind said... he has that thing, the thing I would say people are, the thing I call Action Static. Let me explain. You need to know this because he wasn't aware he is an action static. Action - noun ...something done or performed. Static - adjective ... showing little or no change (both from Websters Dictionary) In other words this guy TALKS action but his lack of action reveals he is static. The question is why?You see the life of the Action Static is all talk - no action! For a reason that can be explained they appear to be action takers. Getting up, getting ready, buying what they need yet they fail to take action. Are you seeing yourself or someone you know in this? The problem of most action statics can be summed up in one word. FEAR. Yet fear si the expectation of something that MIGHT happen. It's not the actual reality. In fact its a assumed result that we think could happen yet rarely does. So the action static never moves forward because he/she worries about the "what if it fails" ... "what if I can't do it" ... "What if I don't have time" ... and more unfounded excuses. It's fear based and unfounded and an unrealistic view of themselves. Why? Because as children of a world that loves to pre-program us from birth to death into submission we have to not only face our inner fears but overcome them with new thinking, new mindsets, new thoughts. Then and only then can we overcome the restraints that hold back those that life the life of the action statics. The good news is - of course - it can be done, you can achieve that if you have to achieve that. You have the inner ability to overcome most things. However, you might be like that guy in those stories that is continually searching, looking, waiting for someone else to take the lead. You have to take your own lead. You have to control you. Then and only then can you move away into the success or experiences in life you truly deserve and throw away the bonds of the action static forever.I hope this message provokes, irritates or even awakens you in some way. Please post a comment, I'd love to know what you think? If you are one of the guys that emails me weekly and never posts on this blog for others to see - why? This blog gets tonnes of traffic. I'd love to share some with you. Post now, good, bad, ugly ... let me know your thoughts.Love. Alan
