Cheerless Valentine
Cheerless Valentine By Alan Forrest Smith There was a point in The Trueman Show movie when the main character Trueman realized all wasn't quite what it seemed. Do you remember? He was driving his car and at one point realized that everything appeared to be on a time piece. So at 3:24pm each day someone on a bike would ride past at the same place on the street. He then jumped out of his car stood looking at everything, everyone and asked himself 'how real is this?' As I went shopping last night I walked into the huge store with my daughter Lily. The closer we got to the store, the more guys walked out of the door with flowers on their hands. As we went through the main doors directly ahead of us was a mass of flowers. roses in red in semi bloom ,smelling of nothing as they had mostly been forced grown, forced fed with chemicals so as to defy the laws of nature. All around the flowers were men. Well not sure if I would or could call them men to be frank, they were more like those pre-programmed characters on the Trueman show. All looked embarrassed. All looked oppressed. All looked totally disheartened over the fact that they felt FORCED into getting to the store to buy flowers to pay homage to their wife, their lady for at least one day a year. I swear - not one had a happy, rejoiceful, big-life outlook on their faces. They looked as miserable as a pigs backside in a bathtub! And they are all are being forced into buying flowers and a crappy card with a meaningless message inside written by a stranger who knows nothing about their relationship with anyone - simply tools to create mass messages on demand! The constant programming of men continues from the day of birth to the day of death. And sadly ... it works because it is supported by those that have been programmed already. So it's interesting; a day that is to be filled with love and adoration begins with men looking like they are about to be thrown into prison for the next 40 years! What is going on here? Aren't men supposed to be strong, thinking creatures filled with pride, love and protection for those that mean everything to them? Yet this system appears to have turned men into grey, dull robots that are doing what they are told to do by a huge commercial empire that couldn't give a crap about how happy they are with their wives or even their lives. A message for real men. Men of this world, stand up and be counted. Be the human you are supposed to be. Become the man you are designed to be. resist the force-feeding of this depressive, oppressive and aggressive system otherwise you'll face your last day packed to the hilt with regret about what you could have been and were never. Live a revolution of YOU. Create and design your own love. Avoid the soulless nothing of modern man. And, your lady will love, adore you and hold you in her heart forever. A message for real women. Love your man. Encourage him to be the rebel, to be the lover he can be, thank him for seeing the vacuum in the dull, lifeless messages mass printed on cards and sold next to the vegetables in super-stores. Hold him close to your heart forever. Kiss him each day, tell him you love him, look into his eyes and say the magic 3 words. This is a tighter bond than any cheerless valentine. This is an action of the heart supported by a thought from the brain. If you wake up today with NO valentine card - kiss your lover, roll close to them and make love until the midday passes. Thank them for being them and tell them you admire this one simple fact. "Darling, today you made a stand against the world. It might be microscopic and hard to do but you made that meaningful stand. Standing up for what you believe means more to me than any factory produced card. I love you for that. If no mans stands - all men fall ... thank you my darling" So ... Who are you? Are you a cheerless, one day a year valentine lover or a real person with a real purpose - a real lover? I have no idea. This is just a thought, my thought. Just an observation, my observation. Let me know what you think about this. Post a comment on my blog and don't forget to leave your URL, I get stacks of traffic and would love to send some your way. Lots of 365 love.
