Chocolatized!
Is your life put on hold because you are being chocolatized? It's critical for YOU that you know the answer. So ... here I am, finishing buying all of my groceries and as usual I forgot to get an item. I asked the more-than-bored looking spot ridden teenage cashier to hold on as I have to go over to the other side of the superstore to grab the missing ingredient from my shopping trolley. As I went in search for my missing product I had to walk up the endless aisle that was packed with chocolate of almost every kind. Around half way along chocolate alley I could see in the distance a man stood in a dream-like stare. He was staring at the rows and rows of chocolate. He'd been chocolatized. This guy was in his fifties, in a trance like state as his eyes went up and down, left then right, back and forth over row upon row of chocolate choice. He was clearly overwhelmed by the choice to such an extent he had been well and truly chocolitized into a hypnotic trance. I walked on by passed him, in front of his eyes, he never noticed me for a second. Not a blink or act of tiny movement. Around 5 minutes later after finding my missing item, I walked past this same fifty something, he was still transfixed in choice by the endless rows and choice chocolate. CHOCOLATIZED! It got me wondering about not only the power of chocolate but what was or had taken place in this guys brain? Because by knowing this we can get to know ourselves better. You see how many times in life have you become transfixed or almost held to the spot because of choice? I am the first to admit ... more than once. Lets think about the chocolatized guy for a second here. 1. He was frozen to the spot. 2. He couldn't make a rational choice. 3. He was hypnotized into submission. 4. He was losing time and life to chocolate choices. 5. His decision would never be his own decision, with some many advertisements, and messages giving multiple reasons as to why their chocolate would ultimately be the very best choice. In fact it appeared if I had said to him, take this bar, he would have been happy to do so just to release him from his chocolate fate! Does what happened to the fifty something chocolatized guy remind you of anything in your life? Like the volume of choices you are faced with each and everyday? Every choice forces us into a process. The process forces into fear. The fear of making a wrong choice. The fear then stops us making a choice. Vicious circle! And if we make a wrong choice what happens? Truthfully ... not a lot really I mean when is the last time you heard of someone overdosing on chocolate? But the point is not only the amount of time we lose but the ability to make fast, quick decisions on our own has been almost removed as a choice in our lives. Choice has been replaced with multiple-multiples. This in return can almost 'chocolatize' us into a state of non-action. When in this state of non-action we become a being that exists daily rather than living, enjoying and experiencing daily. Are there choices that are put in front of us to simply remove our actions as free living human beings? Choices put on life brakes. Remove as many choices as you can and you remove the brakes. This means you increase the momentum in your life. How many choices do you have to take each day? Write them down and after you have written them down ask yourself how relevant were they really in your life? Were they choice for choice sake or were they genuinely a choice that was required from you? Remember the guy in the store. I wonder how many times in a day, a week, a month or even a year he becomes chocolatized with stuff? As I write this article I imagine the millions of John types that are facing the very same daily dilemma on forced choices in their lives? Can I ask you; You want to live a fuller, richer, faster life packed with experiences than most humans want? Do this today. Remove as many choices as you possibly can and watch your life become free from the hypnosis of chocolatization! Have you been chocolatized and are free to admit it? Are you chocolatized and cannot decided whether you can respond to this or not? I'd love to know. Fill out the comment box and hit reply.
