Lived to Death
Lived to Death By Alan Forrest SmithJulie is dead. She lived herself to death. She was murdered by advertising. She looked gorgeous I mean really drop dead stunning. Her hair was thick, long, red with beautiful Irish curls and would spring up and down and she walked along the street. In most peoples eyes she was the perfect body shape with curves to die for. Her eyes were as green as the fresh grass of spring with lashes the longest you'd ever seen. Her skin glowed like the warm sun on an early morning and was the envy of all her female friends. She wore the best clothes, the very best. The labels, the brands, whatever you would see in the top magazine, she would wear it. The guys loved her.Why not she looked incredible! I swear whenever Julie walked out every single head would turn. However Julies eyes hid a secret. You'd only see her secret if you could fall deep enough into her eyes. That was near impossible, Julie had become over protective of everything and rarely revealed or shared anything anymore. Julie lived herself to death. She's dead. Julie is part of a generation that is told things like ... You don't need sleep! You can stay up all day and party endlessly all night. Drink and drink and drink as much alcohol as you like then flush out with a 'reviver'. Smoke and play with drugs. In fact do as you like, do as you want, do as you feel.Tomorrow you might die! Julie was part of a fooled generation that has been led to believe that most actions don't have a consequence. She lived herself to death. Killed by over consumption of alcohol and fast living. Murdered by lies. But who is it that is misleading these kids? Isn't it the sellers of death? Isn't it the people that are willing to take your life or my life or your sons life or your brothers life or ANYONES life for profits? They advertise on Tv. The promote on Radio. They blare out their message anyway they can! They don't care. A life for profit! Yes of course it is. and how do we allow those messages to affect us? On UK TV right now we are being paraded more morons on a show called Big Brother. It's supposed to be 'reality' TV. I have seen this show before. I watched the first 30 minutes of one show on now. I have never seen anything so far detached from reality in my life. Garbage, trash, out of touch, malaffected egos with nothing to share with the world apart from themselves. And the message they send out to our kids, our young people the ones we are supposed to love and protect is ...Living yourself to death is cool, it's ok, you'll be fine. When a young girl or boy absorbs that kind of endless trash isn't it obvious it'll affect their brain? Of course it is. It affected Julies. She had been fed the death peddlers message for years. She thought she would be fine. Her last night out started the same. She looked incredible, turned heads as usual and had all the guys swooning for her. By 5 am the next day Julie was as cold as a turkey lying in the morgue! Whats' the message here? I'm not sure, just an observation that we have to be careful. We have to be aware. We have to be conscious. We have to take control of not just our own lives but the lives of those that we have promised to grow nurture and protect. So we never have to admit that we stood back and watched someone we know... Live themselves to death. Murdered by advertising!I'd love your comment on this. Go to my blog right now and let me know.
