Window Man
There's a man at the window. Well he's not on the outside, he's on the inside but spends his day looking out. One day as I was passing I stopped and asked the man ... "I see you almost everyday looking out the window" He replied, "yes I am looking out of the window" I stopped just for a moment and then dared to further the conversation. I asked, "looking at what exactly from your window" He replied "change" I asked, "change with what?" because as you can imagine I was intrigued. He replied, "change in my circumstance's" I was even more curious at this point because I wasn't quite sure what to say next after all it was none of my business. So I gently asked the man at the window, "when you say circumstance, what do you mean?" He simply replied, "my life, I hate it the way it is, it's always been the same, I just want change".So I said goodbye, thanked him for speaking to me and offered to bring back anything from the shops that he might need. I went to the shops and walked back past the man's home. There he was stood at the window. I waved, he waved back. He is the man at the window. What I haven't mentioned just yet is I have seen that man almost everyday over the past 20 years standing, staring, looking out of his window. He was waiting, he is waiting, he'll always be waiting until the day he dies. Anyway, it really got me thinking about people and their lives. It got me thinking about my own life and how it has transformed to an unrecognizable place from just a few years ago.In 2003 there I was slaving away, close to a breakdown running my salons and staff. Now things are so different for me. I also thought about all the people I meet all over the globe. Beautiful, friendly, warm, loving people. Yet they have something in common with the man at the window. They want change yet they are waiting for change to come to them. They ask or say, "when will things change, I want change", yet the reality is, they like the man at the window just wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. And the problem is, it never happens. The man at the window has one life. He is born and has to get on with it until he goes back to the dust. It's up to him, his decisions, good, bad and downright ugly. When he dies all he leaves is his legacy. Twenty, thirty, sixty years waiting, standing hoping then death. Legacy? Yes I remember that guy at the window. How about you? Are you happy? Do you ask for change? Do you want change? Change is possible for you. I believe in you, do you believe in you? I believe because you are a human being. You are a product of divine origin, you are an incredible creation. When you see others gain the success you don't have is it because they are different? No not really, you can make your desires, dreams, things become your reality. You have what you need right now. But you still stand at the window, waiting, hoping it'll happen. You want someone to do it for you, to show you, to take the lead. Yet ultimately, it's all about you. Be strong and courageous for you have exactly what you need. Dig deep and discover your real self and what you have to offer YOURSELF.The man at the window, he's dead now. He is known as the man at the window. How about you, what's your legacy going to be? That up to you but please ... don't just wait for it to happen. Take steps, small steps just take steps and know this... if you are searching right now for success for your purpose in life for your dreams to happen, I am here for you. You are beautiful, you are not a man at the window, you are totally unique. Be who you are, discover what you can be come. Then and only then will you be amazed at what your life can and will become. Did this help you? I really hope so. You can create whatever you want, I believe in you as a human. Can I ask you a favor.Post your opinion on my blog ... Thanks.Alan Forrest Smith
