The Waiting Man
By Alan Forrest Smith I know this guy. He could be incredible, he isn't. He could do more, he doesn't. He could create and enjoy, he won't. Here's an actual scenario I see this guy in. When he wakes around 10am, he will eat his food and watch some TV By 11am he has become ready to bathe. By 12pm he is ready to eat again. By 1am he is preparing for his afternoon nap. He wakes, he eats and then he sleeps. He uses one sentence repeatedly and it is this... "when will this all change?" When he says this, he means his life. This man has been saying the same thing for the past 25 years that I know of. When he says that sentence ... he is sentencing himself to endless waiting and unhappiness. Right? Hmmm, so when he says change what is it he means? He means when will my life change or when will my life circumstance change or when will my daily routine change? Now I don't know about you but when I see that and hear that it gets me thinking. Thinking because we live in a world when people say things like... "it'll change" "what goes round, comes around" "you have to accept your lot in life" And lots more phrases just like that. And that in itself is intriguing because it reveals how we prepared to be almost passively controlled into waiting for something to happen. There is of course a solution, there always is and I will share what I think in a second. Think about it. How many times in a day, a week or a month are you waiting for something to happen? Here's an example. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer and brighter. So you spend ANOTHER day in the house because you are waiting. Yet if you went into the elements, embraced the chill, the dark, the cold, the red-iced feeling on your nose and accepted it for what it gives to you wouldn't have to wait. Yet most people will book a holiday by the sea, in the sun and close to a breach. Because they have been trained to wait for that annually. So for two weeks a year they get what they wait for and for the other 50 they are waiting. And no one likes waiting right? Because we associate waiting with having a miserable time. How interesting. So if you wait for anything you are in a state of relative unhappiness. Waiting to make money. Waiting for change. Waiting for this, waiting for that. Can you accept that might be you? It is me for sure... lol! So the man at the top of the page. He hasn't found his solution, his answer because he looks out the window waiting for salvation to come to him. It won't for this reason... when you simply wait and do not create anything to advance the solution ... and then live in harmony with what it is you wait for ... well frankly ... your last words the second before your last breathe leaves you could be... "I waited but it never arrived" So what's the problem here? The problem is you. If you are waiting and it hasn't arrived - you are the problem. You need to STOP relying on others or things to solve your life and create solutions. You, you, you have the answer, the solution in you already. Maybe what you need to do is look at you before you look out of the window. Only when you understand you can you remove the waiting. Listen I hope this email provokes, annoys, irritates or pleases you. If it has ... welcome to planet earth, you are alive! I would love to know what you think.
